Y is for Yes

Slim pickings for Y.  But I do remember Yes’s song “Owner of a Lonely Heart” got a lot of attention because of the video.  Then MTV took out the gross part (maggots) and ruined the fun.

This version still has the weird stuff:

I just watched it again.  Pretty dark video.  With a hopeful ending?

Yes, that’s all I have to say.

Oh, and Happy Saturday!

  3. I do remember that one. Funny how it didn't seem as dark to me then as it does to me now~

  5. I love Yes! Used to listen to them all the time. I love the video, girlfriend. And it didn't seem so dark back then. Happy weekend. One more to go! :-)

  8. I know the song, but I never knew who sang it or what it was called. I'm not watching the whole video, though, you mentioned maggots!

  9. It seems like MTV has stopped taking out a lot of the gross parts, judging from what they show now on that channel. (And yet I can't stop watching...)

  10. I love Yes, but not that song. I'm a particular fan of the songs I've Seen All Good People and And You and I.

  14. I liked that song. I couldn't watch the video though. Too gross. (Especially around dinner time.)

  17. Better Y choice than Yanni. I'll have to listen with my eyes closed if there is maggotry involved. Too big an EEEWWWWW factor for me.

I agree with Ruth. Whole 90215 album is great.

  19. Yes are an excellent Prog Rock band. One of my favorite songs is, 'Your Move,' but that was well before the '80s. I believe it was released in 1971, actually.

  25. For the longest time (and I do mean, for a VERY LONG TIME) I thought the song title was, "Owner of a Lonely Horse." And I was all, "How could they know it's lonely? What are they trying to saaaaaaay???"

    :-D
